About the Artist
Allison Lucerne received her BFA in Illustration from the University of the Arts in 1996. Over the years she has worked as a medical/scientific illustrator, an art director, and a freelance illustrator and graphic designer. Her work has been featured in many books, on product packaging, wine labels, corporate marketing materials, ad campaigns, and websites.Allison’s freelance career has focused mainly on educational publishing and design work for non profit groups. Her most recent publications, for Meredith Publishing, have included several hundred botanical illustrations for Miracle Grow Complete Guide to Trees & Shrubs and Ortho All About Trees. She also donates her time to the Newtown Parks and Recreation Board helping with design and marketing for the Newtown Library 5K Race and other community events. In addition Allison completes several commissioned oil paintings and a few murals each year.
This August, Allison will be joining the administrative staff at Newtown Friends School as a part time Marketing Associate. She is looking forward to joining the Newtown Friends community and working to promote the benefits of Quaker education.
When Allison is not painting and drawing she enjoys sailing, kayaking, traveling, and hiking beautiful Bucks County, PA with her husband and two children to find inspiration for her paintings.
